MIE GROUPS, is making plans to hold its flagship Trade Expo CTW Nigeria alongside Equipment and Manufacturing West Africa (EMWA) expo in 2021 as an expansion of the Global Trade platform.
CTW NIGERIA, which was initially planned to hold this year but postponed due to the pandemic and its concomitant disruptions; will now hold in 2021 from 27th of April to the 29th of April, at the Landmark Centre, Lagos, Nigeria,
The three-day event Hybrid Event will unite the markets across West Africa and connect them through Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings designed to accommodate their ever-changing market challenges and needs, said Zahoor Ahmed, Vice President- Strategy & Partnerships, MIE Groups.
The organizers at MIE GROUPS said it will be held in partnership with Zenith Exhibitions, a Nigeria-based events company and organizers of EMWA. Joseph Oru, also the country representative, said the pandemic has disrupted the industry, and organizations need to see how they can collaborate to solve industry problems by creating partnerships across the board.
“CTW Nigeria running alongside EMWA will give participants the opportunity to connect with international manufacturers in a hybrid model since travelling is not secure yet,” he said.
MIE Groups was founded in 2000, as the first domestic professional exhibition serving organizer in Dubai, pioneering the channel for Chinese companies to participate in the Middle East and Africa exhibitions.
Their trade activities have contributed immensely to the China-Nigeria relations which has expanded on growing bilateral trade and strategic cooperation.
Since the inception of China’s, the “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI), a comprehensive framework for organizing multinational economic development and trade, which also inspired the creation of (CTW), MIE has successfully held several high-quality Chinese goods exhibitions in the countries along the route under the initiative.
MIE has been organizing CTW platforms since 2012 in the Middle East, and Africa including Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana South Africa, Nigeria, UAE and Morocco.
Last year, the group organized the China Construction Week in partnership with The Big Five Construct which made a significant impact in the construction sector in Nigeria.
Zahoor Ahmed, explains that the official China-Nigeria relations which began in 1971 has seen many challenges and opportunities through this period. Africa remains China’s key market for foreign direct investment (FDI) and Nigeria which has consistently demonstrated the phenomenal growth strategy, remains one of its key partners for long term infrastructure and economic partnership.
He concluded that trade between the two nations is developing and with the onset of 2020 Challenges both nations are looking towards furthering economic ties.
“MIE long-term investment and growth strategies in Africa will continue in 2021 as we look to further develop our partnerships and markets in Africa including Nigeria.
“The partnership with Zenith Exhibitions will allow us to consolidate the Nigerian market with an industry-leading organization and one of their key B2B platforms EMWA,” Zahoor said.
