The MIE Group Board Chairman, Mr. David Wang, on Monday 14th September 2020 met with Rwanda’s Envoy to the UAE, Amb. Emmanuel Hategeka to discuss the global economic response to COVID-19, the evolving business landscape and how MIE Group’s online exhibition platform, GTW VE, is helping reduce the economic impact of COVID-19 on businesses all over the world.
Amb. Emmanuel Hategeka is a seasoned business strategist and subject matter expert on International Trade and Development. Over the last 22 years, he has held positions of responsibility both in private and public sector. He served as Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), an agency mandated to facilitate private sector development and the one-stop hub for business in Rwanda. He has also served as the National Coordinator of EAC Northern Corridor in the Office of the President, Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Trade and Industry for 7 years from 2010 to 2017, and as the Chief Executive Officer of the Private Sector Federation (PSF) Rwanda from 2006 to 2010.
Mr. David Wang highlighted investment opportunities arising from this crisis and fronted a proposal to host hybrid events to open up trade between Rwanda, UAE and other global markets.
